The draw for the group stage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand was held in the New Zealand capital Auckland on Saturday. The defending champions, the United States, were drawn in Group E alongside the Netherlands and Vietnam. The fourth nation in the group will not be known until early next year after the intercontinental play-offs. The Red Flames failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing in the jump-offs against Portugal.

New Zealand finished in Group A and meet Norway, Switzerland and the Philippines. Australia will meet Ireland, Nigeria and Croatia in Group B. European champions England are favorites in Group D. They will meet Denmark, China and a country from the intercontinental play-offs. Germany will face Colombia, Morocco and South Korea in Group H after losing the final at the last European Championship.

The World Cup begins in Auckland on July 20 with the opening match between New Zealand and Norway. The final will be held on August 20 in Sydney. Group A, C, E and G matches will be held in Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington and Hamilton in New Zealand. In Australia, competitions are held in B, D, F and H divisions in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
