Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Note 12 series. We see three phones with basically the same specifications, but there are also enough differences. Smartphones are also expected to appear in the Netherlands.

Likes xiaomi Quite often, a new series of smartphones has now been presented for the country of origin of China. It’s about Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 devices, the famous successors Redmi Note 11 series which appeared in the Netherlands at the beginning of this year.

The three new smartphones share the same basic in terms of specifications. They all have a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display with excellent Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The front camera in each phone is equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor.

In addition, Xiaomis has a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, which also ensures 5G network-the support. Things like an infrared sensor for use as a remote control for all kinds of equipment, a headphone jack, and NFC and WiFi 6 support are also available.

Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition

The Discovery Edition is the most comprehensive of the bunch and has two features. For example, a smartphone has a camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels. This makes it not the first of its kind. This is because the Xiaomi 12T Pro. You can take pictures with this resolution, but also use pixel binning. For example, 50 or 12.5 megapixel photos are posted with plenty of contrast, detail, and realistic colors. Other cameras include an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel front sensor close up.

Another notable function is the fast charging function, as it has a power of at least 210W. Xiaomi itself says that you can fully charge the battery with it in just nine minutes. This is of course very fast, but the battery is not very large. With 4300 mAh, it is slightly smaller than the average and other devices in the Note 12 series.

Redmi 12 Pro Plus and Note 12 Pro

Redmi 12 Pro Plus has a larger battery: 5000 mAh. However, the charging is a little slower, i.e. 120 watts. In practice, this means that the device is fully charged in 19 minutes. This smartphone comes with the same camera system as the Discovery.

If you don’t care too much about megapixels or fast charging, there’s the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro. The primary camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. We know them, among other things, from the high-end Oppo Find X5 Pro. The device has the same 5000 mAh battery, charging only at a maximum of 67W. According to Xiaomi, you are about 45 minutes away on a full charge.

Price, version and European launch

Prices in China are not directly comparable with those in the European market. It is still not clear if the Redmi Note 12 series will appear here, but it looks very reasonable. As mentioned, the Note 11 series officially debuted here in January. If Xiaomi continues to do so, we will see smartphones appear here in a few months.

The Note 12 Discovery Edition retails for about 335 euros for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus costs at least 290 euros in China (8/256 GB) and Note 12 Pro (6/128GB) can be had from 235 euros.
