Barcelona is the women’s team at the moment: the three-time champion of Spain, the double cup winner and the defending champion of the 2021 UEFA Champions League.

They usually play their matches at Estadi Johan Cruyff, where there is a room of 6000 m/v. But for the quarter-final comeback against Real Madrid, they moved to the Camp Nou. FC Barcelona Femini wanted to make history and inspire. And successfully. The pre-sale started in January and after 3 days 85,000 tickets have already been sold.

Finally, the counter stopped at 91553. The previous record for a club match in women’s football was Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in 2019 with 60,739 spectators. The most attended women’s game was the 1999 World Cup Final between the United States and China with 90,185 fans at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

There was, of course, a lot to do in the field itself. Barcelona dominated, but there was almost an hour of tension. Real reached the second half with 1-1 and could even prevent 1-2. But Catalan pride responded with four goals in 18 minutes.

Lyon took a quick 1-0 lead, Carmona before the break and Zornoza shortly after, the tables were turned. Between the 52nd and 70th minutes, Ponmaty, Pena, Putillas and Graham Hansen expressed their dominance in numbers.

In the semi-finals, Barcelona will play Arsenal or Wolfsburg. They tied 1-1 and will end their return tomorrow in Germany.

Tonight there is still PSG-Bayern Munich (Away: 1-2). On Thursday, Janis Cayman will host Juventus with Lyon (Away: 2-1).
