At Gaverbeek, a real cracking vault was in the program with Zulte Waregem-Eupen. Due to the poor performance of the penultimate match at the Syring Center, the need for both teams was not particularly high, but of course it was possible to win.
Eupen came together well in the first half, but it was Zulte Waregem’s record that scored. Cerani coped superbly with a cross pass that veered Dombey with a superb goal. The defender turned the ball over Noureddine to the goal with his heel: 1-0.
Eupen then dominated and came close to a tie, but Sami Bossuot held on. Shortly before the end of the first half, the referee placed the ball on the spot after the alleged hand play of Pouya, but the VAR reversed this decision.
After the break, Mac Eupen was completely gone. Dombe doubled the score with a skewed shot and immediately afterwards Vossen almost scored a goal that would go around the world.
The striker started from his own half, but Noureddine came back in time to push his brilliant explosion off the crossbar. Ten minutes before the end, Vossen scored his goal, about a penalty kick.
Zulte Waregem put Seraing in the penultimate position at 9 points and now looks really safe. Also looks good for Eupen with an 8 point lead over the people of Liege.
