As of April 11, 2023, Microsoft will no longer support Office 2013. Users are encouraged to migrate to 365.
Those who are still using Office 2013 today may soon have to look forward to the new version of the software package. Microsoft announced yesterday that it will no longer support Office 2013 from April 11 next year. The company also does not guarantee whether the association with Microsoft 365 will continue to function.
The end of Office 2013
The reason Microsoft doesn’t focus on Office 2013, just as with many programs, has to do with security risks. So the tech giant is advising users to switch to Microsoft 365, which is being maintained today.
As of April 11, 2023, security updates for Office 2013 will expire. It makes sense that Office is currently almost entirely in the cloud, so Microsoft wants to spend a lot of money and attention on that. This summer, support for Internet Explorer 11 will also end, as users will of course be required to switch to the Edge browser.
