On the Facebook page of hunters promo There is a lot of debate about where to find the cheapest mussels. “Albert Heijn is leading the way at the moment, and Colruyt also offers mussels for €2.5 per kilo,” says Gunter Daevich, Director of Promojagers. The mussels also taste good, as evidenced by the many reactions on the Facebook page: “We went to get them at Albert Heijn yesterday and they were very tasty.”
Also in Aldi, Lidl and Macro mussels cost less than 3 euros per kilo. All of these supermarket chains follow Albert Heijn’s price cuts. At Carrefour they still cost 3.90 and at Delhaize just under 5 euros per kilogram. “At the end of July, the real mussel war between the supermarkets started, and this year it’s a bit earlier,” says Devish. Prices will still be very high next week, according to Davis, “but they won’t last long.”
We’re not sure if it’s a perfect combination with mussels, but for fans of the Bitter Soft Drink brand Schweppes, there are golden things to do. “Cans are very cheap at Lidl,” says Davis. Also on the Promojagers Facebook page there is a very enthusiastic response. The German supermarket chain Lidl currently offers soft drinks for just 33 cents per can. This only applies when purchasing two packs of six.
