A Ukrainian woman (83 years old) addresses Putin after a missile attack on Kharkiv: “Three more people were killed. And why? Because he went crazy” | Abroad

The Ukrainian town of Chukhov, located in the northeastern Kharkiv region, was bombed by Russian missiles at night from Friday to Saturday. Governor Ole Senhopov said three people were killed and three wounded. The attack completely destroyed a school, a shop, and an apartment building. Frustration is rising among the population, which is another setback for them.

Residential building resident Risa Chapoval, 83, can’t believe how her home turned into a pile of rubble in minutes. The Ukrainian took a strong stand against Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I want to tell him he’s gone crazy. He has completely lost his mind. How can all those rockets and bombs still be used today, in the 21st century?” said the emotional Shapoval.

I killed a woman. She ran away from her home when she and her husband were injured. He also died. And the man who lived in that apartment there also died.” Three people lost their lives. And why? For what reason? Because Putin went crazy?”

There is no roof over your head

The Kharkiv region is partly under the control of the Russian army. Chuchoev is barely six kilometers from where the Russian forces are stationed.

Halina Mineva, the town’s mayor, also responded with dismay at the attack. “Today, many families have lost their roofs over their heads,” she said. According to the police, the Russians fired four missiles at Chuchoev from the nearby town of Belgorod around 03:30 local time.

Last Friday, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry claimed that only 30 percent of all Russian attacks hit military targets, while the bulk of the missiles killed civilians.
