Intel will release its first Raptor Lake desktop CPUs this fall and will launch mobile processors within the new chipset family later this year. Only current Alder Lake P- and H-series mobile CPUs have been available since the beginning of this year.
The Raptor Lake generation is scheduled to be officially unveiled on September 27-28 at Intel Innovation, but CEO Pat Gelsinger makes Power point subordinate Recent Quarterly Numbers CPU release periods are already known. “In today’s market, we see a relatively strong premium segment. (…) We plan to maintain this momentum with the release of the next generation: Raptor Lake. Starting with desktop SKUs this fall, followed by the mobile family before the end of this year.”
According to previous rumours The new processors will be the first in stores starting October 17th. This corresponds to the release of the Alder Lake K series, which was released on October 27 last year. The mobile processors within the Alder Lake family did not hit the market until February of this year; So it is worth noting that Intel released the two main types of CPUs in the same year this time.
Gelsinger promises a “double digit” performance improvement with Raptor Lake, indicating at least a ten percent improvement. Of course the amount of performance improvement will vary for each model, but early unofficial standards It especially seems to indicate better performance thanks to the additional electronic cores. Like the current generation of CPUs, the Raptor Lakte uses the LGA-1700 socket and supports both DDR4 and DDR5 memory.
