Now that the festival caravan leaves at Tomorrowland Boom, Gasterij Het Marum has also said goodbye to Gaggan Anand. The Indian chef and his team spent three weeks in hiding at Brecht B&B. He invited his good friend and singer Ed Sheeran to dinner there, even in the strictest secrecy.
For the 16th edition, Tomorrowland’s head chef was Gaggan Anand, who presented the gastronomy at his chef’s table with a view of the main stage. He also developed a unique menu for Tomorrowland Restaurant.
Anand’s Kitchen has been named ‘Best Asian Restaurant’ in the 50 most prestigious international restaurants for four consecutive years. This great chef and his team enjoyed the peace and nature of Brechtse Gasterij Het Marum for three weeks.
“Amazing”
Through Cyrus Saidi, a talent manager in Los Angeles, the celebrity chef ended up in Brecht. He explains: “I’ve worked with Tomorrowland since the second edition. I usually book deejays for the festival. This year I had a very special client, Master Chef Gaggan Anand, who created the magic of the festival with his internationally award winning cuisine. I had to find a place to live and for his team “.
He searched online for weeks for a suitable accommodation and eventually came across Gasterij Het Marum in Brecht. The manager has nothing but praise for his stay here.
“It looked great online but of course you won’t know for sure how good it is until you check in. We instantly fell in love with this wonderful place as we were allowed to stay for three weeks. We love the natural environment and the guest house is beautiful too.” It was amazing. “
Ed Sheeran
The feeling was mutual, owner Josena Sligers and her daughter, Lake Pennbrook, admitted. “It was a great experience. Chef’s team consisted of different nationalities. Everyone was very friendly and happy. This also applies to Head Chef Gagan and his girlfriend. We meet them almost every day. They are beautiful people. They may be very famous, but at the same time they act very ordinary. I had the pleasure of trying it.”
“They were amazed by our villa and service and they couldn’t have imagined a better place to stay. Like icing on the cake, last Thursday we heard the amazing news that British singer Ed Sheeran had visited our restaurant Gasterij. He is a good friend of Gaggan. Josina laughs, so we thought that was it.” “Awesome” again.
Gaggan invited Sheeran to Het Marum for dinner. “They made Thai curry for the singer and they ate dinner together at a long table in our villa.”He loved the house‘We were told. Unfortunately, of course, we weren’t allowed to know anything about this in advance so unfortunately we don’t have a picture of this.”
The team thanked Josina and Lake warmly: Thank you for making us feel at home and giving us the best memories to cherish. We can’t wait to come back and stay with you again! ‘, they wrote in the guestbook before they left.
As noted by the makers of the vtm program, Jamal Brecht’s B&B last year. blind married. Part of the recordings were made at Gasterij Het Marum.
