Comic Con Antwerp returns after three years of waiting, with famous cast from The Lord of the Rings: "For me, these people at a conference like this are real heroes"

AntwerpThey had to wait three years, many “geeks” who had been looking forward to Comic Con Antwerp 4th edition for a long time. So it comes as no surprise that thousands of fans of sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and cosplay are coming to Waagnatie this weekend. “For me, these people at such a conference are real heroes,” says John Rhys-Davies (78), the lovable dwarf Gimli in The Lord of the Rings.

One minute of walking around Comic Con is enough to face a lot of well-known superheroes from the fantasy world. They can also take their pictures with their favorite actors. Organizer Quinte Ridz had hooked Bernard Hill and John Rhys Davis. They star in the Lord of the Rings trilogy as King Théoden and Gimli respectively. Already in the 1980s, Rhys Davis was known as Salah in the Indiana Jones films.

He obviously enjoys it when we take him aside for a while on the banks of the Scheldt. For example, he directs his admiration for the poetry of great masters such as Percy Bysshe Shelley and TS Eliot. But it also lets you look into the heart.

Shakespeare saved her.

“I grew up in Tanzania, I was a wild kid. When I came back to England, I rebelled. I hated almost everything, everyone was a juvenile delinquent. Poetry and theater changed that. They made me participate in a play. I was obviously doing something interesting because I was doing Shakespeare after A few years ago. “I love the Belgians”

Rhys Davis did not have time to visit the city on Saturday. “But I like conventions like Comic Con. You can make a very good connection with your audience. I see real heroes there. I remember a father with his blind teenage son. I said to that father, ‘Don’t worry.’” Your son sees the world in his imagination. You know, I met more People are cool.
