Trump gets one week to prove evidence established by FBI

Donald Trump has until September 30 to prove that the FBI planted evidence at his estate. The Washington Post writes Thursday.

During the search of the Mar-a-Lago estate of the former US president, FBI employees found information that, according to Trump, he himself would have left there. The former president and his lawyers have repeated that claim several times in recent weeks.

An independent judge appointed by the court last week, former Judge Raymond Deary, is now giving Trump a “last chance” to specify which documents are involved. By Monday, the government must provide copies of all unclassified materials to Trump’s lawyers.

Next, Trump’s team must prepare a report listing what documents someone else left behind at Mar-a-Lago. Deary must review more than 11,000 government documents, some of which are highly classified.
