Publisher rejects first copy of Prince Harry’s royal memoir

Read more about the British royal family in the exclusive “Het Laatste Nieuws” magazine about Queen Elizabeth II. This luxury magazine has no less than 140 pages Now in store.

Prince Harry enlisted the help of a ghostwriter on his autobiography. His life story was written by JR Moringer, who previously wrote the memoirs of tennis player Andre Agassi and Nike founder Phil Knight. The author even received a Pulitzer Prize (a prestigious literary award) for his work, but his writings for Prince Harry were apparently rejected by the publishing house.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the text submitted does not contain what was expected of Prince Harry. “He was too focused on his mental problems,” the British newspaper said. The manuscript hardly contains “sharp tales” about the royal family, although that was a requirement. This is why the publishing house would have ordered Harry to review the scripts.

The prince is said to have “softened” his diary “for fear that it might not go well” in the wake of Queen Elizabeth’s death. Something the publisher wouldn’t agree to, because he obviously wanted a high-profile book on the shelves. “Harry threw a wrench in the works,” it seems there, according to “The Mail on Sunday.” The actions that still need to be taken will also affect the timing: the book won’t be published as soon as possible in early 2023, although it should have been released on holidays.
