More and more it happens that we have multiple options at home to watch or stream TV. Make sure you don’t bother each other too much and use headphones to listen to TV.
If you are in the living room with your different family members and you are watching TV or streaming on different devices, it is more interesting to watch through headphones so as not to disturb others. Connecting the phone to your TV, how exactly do you do that?
How do I connect my headphones to my TV?
Step 1: Connect the headphones
Oddly enough, almost all TVs have a headphone jack, to which you can connect a standard 3.5 mm audio cable. This allows you to listen to your TV using any wired headphones. This is of course not very convenient. Moreover, these connections are often hidden behind the device, which makes them especially difficult to access.
Step 2: Go Wireless
Most modern TVs have Bluetooth, a universal wireless communication technology. It is then possible to connect wireless headphones for optimal comfort. Before you start with this, it’s a good idea to know how to put your headphones into “pairing mode,” so how you can pair them with new devices. In most cases, this is true: Hold the power button down for three to five seconds when it’s off. The headset is then unlocked for new pairing operations.
Step 3: First Link
The pairing process for you Google TV Or Android TV (which most brands use, from Sony to Philips and TCL to Huawei) is the same. On the main screen, go to the Settings menu and select Wireless & Networks (Android TV) or Remote & Accessories (Google TV). Then go to pairing the remote control or accessory. Make sure the headphones are in pairing mode and select them from the list. Then click Link.
Step 4: Listen again
In the future, this connection will not be created automatically. This is nice, because many people use headphones for multiple devices. It would be annoying if the TV sound kept going to the headphones by itself! To send audio to the headphones, turn on the headphones and on the TV, go to Settings > Remote Control & Accessories > Your Device > Connect.
