The Wagner Group Recruiting Russian Prisoners “With HIV and Hepatitis C” | Ukraine and Russia war

The Russian Wagner mercenary army failed to meet strict recruitment standards after incurring heavy losses. Earlier, a video appeared showing how Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the paramilitary group, Recruiting prisoners to fight in Ukraine (You can watch this video above). But it seems that there are fewer requirements now.

“In previous conflicts, the Wagner Group maintained relatively high recruitment standards and many of its mercenaries had previously served as professional Russian soldiers,” the Defense Ministry said on Sunday. But Prigozhin recently noted in an online post that the group is now recruiting prisoners with serious illnesses such as HIV and hepatitis C.

“The recruitment of prisoners with serious medical problems shows that number now takes precedence over experience or quality,” the ministry said.

Prigozhin also recently discussed plans to build a 200-kilometer defense post in eastern Ukraine called the “Wagner Line”.

“Its construction requires enormous manpower. There is a real opportunity to use some of the prisoners initially to build defences,” the British Ministry of Defense suspects.
