TP-Link launches three Archer routers with Wi-Fi 7 – Computer – News

TP-Link has introduced three Wi-Fi 7 routers in the Archer Series. The company is also releasing new mesh products. Routers follow the upcoming IEEE specification standard for the successor to Wi-Fi 6(E).

TP-Link brings, among other things, a file Archer BE900 outside, which also features a different design from previous Archer models. The BE900 supports quad-band Wi-Fi 7 and uses the 2.4GHz band, two 5GHz bands, and the 6GHz band. Twelve internal antennas are provided for this. In addition, this results in a theoretical maximum speed of 24 Gbit/s for wireless connections.

The router also has a 10Gb/s Ethernet and SFP+ port, a 10Gb WAN/LAN port, four 2.5Gb/s ports, and one Gigabit port. There are also two USB ports on the router.

In addition, TP-Link launches two other Archer routers, the BE800 and BE550. The first is a tri-band router with a maximum wireless speed of 19 Gbit/s and six Ethernet ports of which two can reach 10 Gbit/s and four 2.5 Gbit/s. The second router has a speed of 9.2 Gb / s and four ports of 2.5 Gb.

The new routers are among the first on the market to support Wi-Fi 7. This standard is currently being developed and is a successor to Wi-Fi 6. The official standard has not yet been determined by the IEEE, but routers are based on Draft that has already been set. It is common for Wi-Fi equipment to be released before the specification is “done.” Final specifications for Wi-Fi 7 are expected in May 2024. Tweakers wrote earlier this year Background article on Wi-Fi 7.

Initially, the routers will only be released for the North American market. It will be delivered in the first quarter of 2023, but a deadline has not yet been announced. The only known price is the BE900. It will cost 700 dollars.

TP-Link also introduced a new grille system in the Deco line. The Deco BE95 Like Archer routers, it supports Wi-Fi 7 and achieves maximum speeds of 33 Gbit/s on four frequencies, two of which are on the 6 GHz bands. The device also has a 10 gigabit port.

The company also brings GE800 router is down Which can prioritize network traffic for gaming via a companion app. This router will be released in the first or second quarter at an unknown price.
