WASHINGTON (AP) – Duncan Lawrence’s single arcade has reached platinum status in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It is a system that monitors all sales and streaming statistics in the country. “Platinum in America!”, The singer writes on Instagram about the success.
“Pinch me,” he adds. Platinum in the United States sells 1 million solo songs or listens to 150 million streams. During the Eurovision song contest, the singer has already won the award for 1 billion global streams.
Duncan Lawrence shared some pictures of the little party at his house on Instagram. Songwriter Watery Hardy can be seen being allowed to open a bottle of champagne. Ilse DeLange is also in a zoom meeting.
Eurovision Song Festival
The singer won the Eurovision song contest with the arcade in 2019, but this single was a big hit outside of Europe earlier this year. The single is still on the rise on the leading Billboard Hot 100, currently ranking 50th highest. Rarely did a Dutch singer or band win in the United States.
The arcade has been successful in South America and Asia.
