a look. Trevor Noah weeps as he bids farewell to The Daily Show
“I remember when we started the show, we couldn’t get enough people to fill the audience,” he began. There were empty seats. said Noah, tears welling up in his eyes now that I look around… I’m not going to take this for granted. Thanks to everyone who watched and attended this show. The presenter then turned his attention to the “magnificent” black women in his life, who he said played an important role in his success. The advice to his audience was: “Talk to black women if you really want to get to know the United States.”
During his latest broadcast, Noah also spoke to all of the talk show’s reporters and received a number of emotional video messages from, among others, presenter Oprah Winfrey and actress Issa Rae. Comedian Neil Brennen, also a close friend of Noah, was a guest for the host’s final performance.
Noah took over from Jon Stewart who has presented the program since 1999. Craig Kilborn was the first host of the show to be brought to screen since 1996.
