Lenovo launched the new ThinkPad X1 series with unannounced Intel Raptor Lake chipsets

Lenovo announces a revamp of its X1 portfolio for CES. This year, not much has changed from the outside. Inside, the laptops get a beating new heart of 13th Gen Intel processors.

Lenovo can’t wait for next year’s CES show in Las Vegas, and it’s already launching its new ThinkPad X1 devices. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon, X1 Yoga, and X1 Nano will all receive an update. Don’t expect to see from the outside whether someone is carrying the latest machine from the Lenovo stable, or a horse from last year, because the chassis remains more or less unchanged. So count on the same possibilities and connections.

Raptor Lake

Much has changed inside. For the flexible Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X1 Yoga, the manufacturer chooses 13th generation Intel processors. This is quite amazing, because Intel has not yet officially announced the 13th generation codenamed Raptor Lake for mobile devices. One The desktop variant has already been released.

In terms of cooling, Lenovo seems to be making strides. The chassis fits Core processors of the P and U families, configured with a power of up to 21 watts. This possibility may also be partly due to the undisclosed properties of the mysterious Raptor Lake chips. The hardware is also configurable with a 2.8-inch (14-inch) OLED screen and takes up to 64GB of LP DDR5 RAM.

Thunderbolt 4 port

The 13-inch ThinkPad X1 Nano comes with Core P processors and is also much more powerful than its predecessors. This laptop is available with up to 16GB of DDR5 memory. New Intel chips support Thunderbolt 4, which makes it appear on laptops. Again, nothing has changed on the outside and the weight also remains low, with configurations of less than 1kg.

Hardware should be available in the spring. We don’t yet know the exact suggested retail price, though the laptops will be more expensive than their predecessors.
