Famous PeopleCJ Harris, 31, who finished sixth on the 13th season of American Idol in 2014, died. He was taken to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama, on Sunday. But attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful. The cause of his death is not yet known.
The musician auditioned for “American Idol” in 2014 in front of judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. in Salt Lake City. His adaptation of the Allman Brothers hit “Soulshine”, which he dedicated to his father, earned him three votes for the next round in Hollywood. Later in the game, he delivered memorable performances of hits like Marshall Tucker’s “Can’t You See” and The SteelDrivers’ “If It Wasn’t for Love.”

After his time on the show, Harris performed with Darius Rucker on the Grand Ole Opry and released the song “In Love” in 2019. He regularly shares videos of himself singing and playing guitar on TikTok and Instagram. In October he wrote on Facebook that he was working on new music in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. “I was always online, looking for hacks, looking for producers to send my stuff to,” he said in a recent interview. He added that his love for music began since his childhood, when his mother sang to him over the phone while she was in prison.
