Qantas unveils ultra-luxurious aircraft for world’s longest flight | for travel

It will be the longest passenger flight in the world: 19 hours non-stop from London or New York to Australia. Qantas has now announced the first images of the new aircraft’s luxurious interior.

The new connection is called “Project Sunrise” because the flight is so long that passengers see the sunrise twice during their time on board.

More space

Qantas will fly the route from 2025 with twelve new Airbus A350 aircraft. To give those on the monster flight a little more room, the planes will carry just 238 passengers. There are usually more than 300 people on these planes.

“We started designing five years ago and tried to maximize space. The lighting will be adjusted according to the sleeping patterns of the passengers,” says David Kaun, who designed the cabin. There will also be a private area where passengers can stretch their legs.

First grade

It is now known what the first class and business class will look like. First class seats, or rather separate suites, contain a bed, a chair, a 32-inch TV on the wall, and a wardrobe.

Business class has seats that convert into a two-meter bed. These seats can also be closed off from the rest of the cabin with a sliding door.

Economie?

It is not yet known that the distinct parts of the economy and economy appeared in the device. Qantas has reported that there will be fast WiFi and Bluetooth throughout the aircraft.

test flights

Experiments have been going on for quite some time with the extremely long flight. The Australian authorities did not want to give permission for the scheduled flight until it became clear that the plane could be in the air for 23 hours without serious consequences for passengers.

During test flights in 2019, the pilots’ brain activity was monitored. In the weeks following the trip, their urine was tested to see how exercise affected their condition. The health of the passengers was also tested.
