Although the 6.43-inch OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G has been around for a while, it looks like we’ll have to wait a while before a sequel is released. And while the sequel was an open book a few months ago, trusted Twitter leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer is now revising his predictions to cover both the Nord CE 3 and Nord CE 3 Lite.
Nord C3 Lite
If Steve H. is right, the previously announced spec sheet for the “regular” OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G will eventually cover the lite version of the phone. These include a decent but far from impressive Snapdragon 695 processor, as well as a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 256GB of internal storage with 8GB of RAM, and a 108MP shooter accompanied by a duo of 2MP sensors. On the back of the undeniably affordable Nord CE 3 Lite.
Standard Edition
Meanwhile, the non-Lite Nord CE 3 version is expected to feature the Snapdragon 782 SoC which looks like a huge improvement over the MediaTek Dimensity 900 in last year’s Nord CE 2. This is a new Qualcomm chipset with a relatively higher mid-range that could give the OnePlus Nord CE 3 a solid edge over many of the best budget phones in terms of raw power.
The rest of the new rumored specs are pretty impressive for an Android mid-range, too, with the 6.72-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen looking like a big potential selling point at the right price and the same for the 12GB of RAM and 256 GB of maximum storage space.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Nord CE 3 doesn’t look quite groundbreaking, with a rear-facing 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP secondary snapper and a 2MP triple lens, with a 5,000mAh battery likely to support fast charging. With a power of 80 watts.
Price and launch
The new Nord CE 3 (Lite) is expected to be released next summer. OnePlus has not set a release date yet. So it is not yet known what the price will be here. However, we can express an expectation. After all, we wouldn’t be surprised if this successor went up a bit in price compared to its predecessor. This is mainly due to the more expensive raw materials to ever be able to make a Nord CE 3 (Lite). Of course, price increases will be kept to a minimum, so we expect an increase from around €30 to €50 at most.
