Samsung QN85B – the best price-to-light ratio?

If you are looking for an excellent all-round TV with good color reproduction, excellent gaming functionality and above all a very high light output, Samsung’s Neo QLED QN95B, the top model of the Neo QLED series, is an excellent choice, as we concluded in Our review last year. The main drawback of this TV? The QN95B has a price tag to match the higher end model. If you want to spend a little less, the slightly lower positioned QN85B might be a good choice. Although this model is a bit thicker and lacks the external One Connect box that the QN95B has, it also offers four HDMI 2.1 ports and a small LED backlight that produces plenty of light and provides accurate local dimming, while paying much less for it than the QN95B.

We will publish this review at the end of March 2023. This means that new TV models of this year will slowly appear on store shelves and many of the 2022 models will go on sale. The Samsung QN85B is a model from 2022 that you can now buy at a very competitive price, thus it has been high on Pricewatch’s most popular TVs list for weeks. When it was introduced in May last year, the 55 “version cost an average of 1,900 euros. You can now find it in many stores for as little as 850 euros, so for less than half. The QN95B has also, of course, dropped in price. At the time of writing, you’re paying no less than 1,100 euros for this model, so it’s time to find out if Samsung’s model isn’t really the best.
