Every week we ask the oldest inhabitant of a village or city in Flanders, in our new series Oldest Belgians. Four years ago, Françoise Branteghem traded her home in Hellegem for a room in the residential care center Ter Lyne. “Thirty years ago my husband passed away, but I still think of him every day. We were so happy together.”
