US makes Moroccan lithium more competitive

The United States Senate-approved bill on Green Energy and Climate offers a tax credit of up to $7,500 for the purchase of an American electric car. The move will strengthen the competitiveness of lithium produced in Morocco, Israel, Jordan and other countries.

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, more than a dozen new models and some of their variants can take full or partial advantage of the new credit. CNN. Senior government officials said the new rule would make lithium more competitive for countries that have trade deals with the U.S. on essential minerals. These countries are Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Jordan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Peru, Singapore and Japan.
