television‘Bad Sisters’, the international version of the VTM ‘Clan’ series, continues to score worldwide. Following previous nominations for the BAFTAs and Critics Choice Awards, the series has managed to crown itself as a grand winner at the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs). The series has received no fewer than four nominations.
Bad Sisters won four awards at the Irish Television Awards, including Best Drama and Best Director. Anne-Marie Duff won the statuette in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category, and Sharon Horgan, who plays one of the sisters in the fantasy series, received a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
Therefore, the international remake of Apple TV + – consisting of ten episodes – was a hit all over the world and received one nomination after another. Earlier this year, the Irish version was nominated for two Critics Choice Awards, one of the most important American film awards, and the series still has a chance to win no fewer than five BAFTA Awards, the most important British television awards for series and actors. It remains to be seen if the Bad Sisters can pull off a victory here. The BAFTAs will be presented on May 14th in London.

Just like in the Flemish series Clan, Bad Sisters also focuses on four sisters. Together, they plotted the murder of Jean-Claude (aka “The Foundling”), the husband of their fifth sister. In the remake, the character is called “Tingle”. The original story remains largely the same, though some character names have been changed.
