Mine energyWith nearly 2,000 hours of sunshine, 2022 was one of the sunniest years in recent decades. Our solar panels knew this, too. Last year, the output per watt-peak of installed capacity was much higher than it was in 2021. Mijnenergie.be He runs through the numbers.

very sunny year
In all, according to RMI, the sun shone in Uccle for 1,974 hours last year. This is significantly more than the 30-year average of 1,603.40 hours.
In 2021, we still had to settle for 1,590.00 hours of sunshine. This also naturally translates into a higher yield from our solar panels in 2022.
Solar panel wait times are increasing exponentially: How long do you have to be patient? And why is this the case?
production per month
In Flanders, output per installed capacity rose from 0.938 kWh per peak installed capacity to 1.032 kWh per peak watt. This represents an increase of about 10%.
The sunny summer months of June (+31%) and July (+23%) contributed significantly to this. The mild fall also translated into higher production, with November (+25%) hitting peak production.
Only in April (-3%), September (-10%) and October (-14%) did solar panels generate more energy in 2021 than in 2022. This is evidenced on the basis of indicative data by the energy forecaster of the Flemish Energy and Climate Agency (VEKA). .

Better than expected
Anyone with an average installation with a maximum capacity of 4,000 watts will generate an average of 4,128 kilowatt-hours of energy in 2022. To calculate solar panel throughput, most simulators use a standard conversion factor of 0.89. This means that the performance of solar panels in 2022 was much better than the theoretically estimated return.
Effect on analog and digital counter
So analogue counter owners have moved back in a big way in the past year. Digital meter owners, in turn, can consume a larger share of the energy themselves or sell more energy to energy suppliers.
Additionally, supplier wages for the electricity generated were much higher last year than they were in 2021. These variable injection rates were particularly high during the summer.
