The Americans say Ukraine was behind the drone attack on the Kremlin based on intercepted communications from Russian and Ukrainian government officials. For the avoidance of doubt, that scenario is only considered a dead end option by the Americans, CNN sources said. It is also believed that President Zelensky was not aware of this plan.

Two drones were reportedly shot down by the Russian military on the night of May 2-3. Remarkably, at the moment of the explosion, two people climbed the Kremlin dome, as can be seen in the pictures below. The independent Russian news website Medusa writes that an anonymous channel of the Russian security services on Telegram reports that they are the people responsible for the Kremlin’s “air defense”.

Only the Kremlin roof was slightly damaged in the attack. According to Russia, there were no injuries. Russian President Vladimir Putin did not show up that night. Russia has previously accused the US of carrying out drone strikes on the Kremlin, but has failed to provide any evidence.

Asked about the report, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “We immediately said that the Kiev regime was behind it. “In the end, it doesn’t matter which unit of the Kiev regime was behind it. The Kiev regime was behind this. We know it, we know it.

This attack is not the only one

U.S. officials suspect pro-Ukrainian groups of being behind a prominent Russian nationalist, a pro-Russian blogger and several attacks on Russian cities near the Ukrainian border. According to the US, the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines could also be directed in the direction of the pro-Ukrainian group.
