Queeg on the future: ‘Talks are ongoing’
Olaf Koeij brought out the censer to his teammates after his win.
“We took our responsibility and helped control the match. The boys were very strong. It was great to finish off the teamwork,” said the winner.
The run up to the race was very tense. “It was about starting the climb in a good position, going forward, trying to recover and giving everything to the line.”
Mius was still panting on Queeg’s neck. “I felt like he might be getting close to something, but I was good enough to push him away.”
Kooij has terminated his contract with Jumbo-Visma. How are the conversations going with other teams?
“These are the things that happen. At some point it will become known, also to me. But now I’m focused on racing and I’m happy to be able to add another victory.”
