Lately you’re hearing more and more stories about trailers and scripts being stolen and leaked about major Marvel projects. For example, the trailer for the new superhero movie Kraven the hunter recently went online early because someone had already leaked the images. It’s becoming more and more common, but even before the massive success of the Marvel movies, such a scene occurred.

In 2012, the first “Avengers” movie conquered cinemas and became a worldwide success. But it was close to the entire script that was leaked before the movie was even released. Actor Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel film series, revealed to ‘Entertainment Weekly’ that the script for the first film has also been copied and put up for sale online.

“I remember an employee reprinting my script and putting it up for sale online when we were preparing for The Avengers.” The production found out right away and immediately put the employee at the door.

After the incident, security around the various ongoing Marvel projects has of course been tightened. Jackson recalled how Marvel posed as a potential buyer to catch the employee in the act: “They pretended to buy it, but he didn’t show up. It was crazy.”

Until now, the secrecy surrounding new Marvel projects remains paramount. For example, during the filming of the new series “Secret Invasion”, drones were shot down by the production, for fear of being spied on: “They dropped one, and the owner followed the other. They found him and then took him away.”
