“I am going to do this. I am going to do this.” So begins the video that Femke posted to her TikTok, as she sees Harry Styles walking in her direction. She had been looking forward to Saturday, June 24, for a whole year to see the pop idol group live and complete the task. Since Harry Styles appeared on stage two years ago in a crocheted sweater in all the colors of the rainbow, many fans have followed the trend. Vemki, who knows her way around spinning, has made a sweater for herself. She also made a crochet beanie, which she tossed directly into the hands of the style icon herself after three tries on Saturday. Harry Styles gratefully accepted her and even pulled her offstage. “This is a dream for the fans,” replies Vimic.
“Usually when he throws things at him, he throws it back to the audience. He took my hat back on stage. I only hit it the third time. Security was nice enough to always put the hat back on when I threw it.” On TikTok, you get a lot of support from Harry Styles followers around the world. The video has nearly 19,000 likes and more than 300,000 views.
“I saw in the video how I was shaking. But the concert was really cool,” Femke still savors it. Her mother can’t fully absorb the noise. “I think I’m too old for that,” laughs Wendy. She slept in her room in Leuven, then left at six in the morning to be one of the first in. Last year, we called the whole family for tickets. She’s a huge fan and wanted it so bad.”
