Since its release in 2010, the original Red Dead Redemption has been widely regarded as one of the best open-world games and one of Rockstar’s best efforts to date. This means that fans of the Wild West saga have long been hoping for an updated version of the game on modern platforms. However, there has not yet been much reason to be hopeful in this area, but it is interesting that recent developments may indicate a change in the situation.
As reported by Gematsu, the original Red Dead Redemption game has received a new certification rating from the Korean Game Evaluation and Management Commission, which was published on June 15, less than two weeks ago. This indicates that Rockstar may plan to announce a re-release or re-release of the game.
The rating number for the new rating indicates a port for PC, a platform for which Red Dead Redemption has not been released to this day. But as Gematsu points out, that doesn’t necessarily mean there aren’t console versions.
Interestingly, ratings for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the original Red Dead Redemption, as well as subsequent re-releases in Undead Nightmare Collection and Game of the Year Edition, are already in the GRAC database. This means that this review is definitely new.
Rumors surfaced over a year ago that Rockstar was working on remakes of both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2. Soon after, plans for both Transformers were allegedly dropped, with the company choosing instead to focus on developing Grand Theft Auto VI. .
GTA 6 itself has not been officially revealed yet, but there are reports that it could launch sometime between April 2024 and March 2025.
