Zulte Waregem hopes their latest reinforcement will follow the same path as Bart Verbruggen. There are definitely some similarities.
Zulte Waregem has introduced the first boost of the new season. This is Ennio van der Gouw, a 22-year-old Dutch goalkeeper. He signs a four-season contract with Zulte Waregem. van der Gouw is a name that might ring a bell.
He is the son of former Manchester United goalkeeper Raymond van der Gouw. He went through the youth series of FC Twente. After that he signed with VV Venlo and there became a strong holder. Last year, he notched six clean sheets in 37 contests in the Kitchen Champion division.
“I am very happy to be here and proud to play for this great club,” Enyo enthused on the club’s website. “Essevee is a great club for the next step in my career. I can’t wait to get started and give everything to the fans and the club.”
Zulte Waregem naturally hopes that he can follow the same path as Bart Verbruggen. The Dutch goalkeeper came from lowly NAC and has been sold for a limited sum. Anderlecht sold him this summer to the English club Brighton for 20 million euros.
