After many years of faithful service, Sammy Boussot’s professional career has already come to an end. He was introduced to his new club.
Two weeks ago, Sami Bossuth was still active at Club Brugge. English goalkeeper Joe Bursic suffered a cruciate ligament injury during training, so the 37-year-old goalkeeper came to training.
Former Zulte Waregem goalkeeper has been without a club since July 1 after not renewing his contract with Isefi after 17 years of loyal service. Furthermore, there was the possibility of continuing as a goalkeeper coach in the Blue and Black after that.
Harelbeke
But Bossut also wanted to be active as a goalkeeper, so another solution was sought. And meanwhile he is also found, for he is moving to Harelbeke.
In 2003 he made his debut for this club in the first team, and now, most likely, he will end his career there in the coming years. He must provide additional experience and find his former teammate Stijn Meert there.
“My return makes sense,” said Sami Boussot in his press presentation. “I know a few players here, who can play football close to home, … I’m looking forward to next season, and it’s still the case.”
