As always, Spotify announces the most streamed songs of the summer. Specifically, it relates to the songs that were listened to the most between May 29 and August 14. Pommelien Thijs’ single “Erop of eronder” scored very high. The popular number is in ninth place. This makes Pommelien the only native in the top ten nationally for the streaming platform. Camille’s “Rihanna” has to settle for 19th place.
The favorite song of the Belgians this summer was Daniel Kushner’s “Daylight”. Not surprisingly, the song became a huge hit on Tiktok. The second place went to “Tattoo” by Eurovision winner Lauren.
Worldwide, the song “Ella Baila Sola” by Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma was number one. The song has achieved no less than 390 million streams this summer. In second place was Bad Bunny and Where She Goes. In addition, artists such as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, SZA, and Dua Lipa scored very highly this summer. “As a result of the hype around Barbie,” Spotify explains. Harry Styles, Jungkook, and Arctic Monkeys also made the list.
