With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games wants to make the popular PlayStation franchise even better, as can be seen from a new trailer that features, among other things, a huge open world and impressive gameplay features.
Creative director Bryan Intihar revealed more details about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during the latest state of play.
For example, we learned that New York nearly doubled in size with the addition of Queens and Brooklyn. To quickly move across that map, players can now use their web wards.
Gameplay-wise, you’ll always be able to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world, although you can only play some missions as a specific character. And with the new fast travel system, you’ll also be able to fast travel in New York, which looks very impressive thanks to the power of PlayStation 5.
Insomniac is also paying some attention to the costumes you’ll be able to unlock. The developer features over 65 costumes from the comics, movies, and original designs. Combined with the new Suit Style System, this provides over 200 outfit options for your favorite heroes.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on October 20 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
