Parkinson’s Café regulates “dry eyes”

Parkinson’s Café regulates “dry eyes”

On Wednesday 27 September, Parkinson’s Café is organizing a meeting, where Miriam van Tilburg (optometrist) will talk about vision and eye problems in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

People with Parkinson’s disease are more likely to have vision and eye problems such as blurred vision, dry eye symptoms, difficulty judging depth, and double vision than people of the same age without the condition. These eye problems affect the daily activities of people with Parkinson’s disease.

It is important for people with Parkinson’s disease to continue to see well, as this helps compensate for movement problems caused by the disease. Better visibility also reduces the risk of falling. People with Parkinson’s disease have eye problems that go beyond the normal aging process, and these problems can disrupt their daily lives. However, most eye problems can be treated. That’s why it’s important for people with Parkinson’s disease to be screened and treated.
