The final stage of the Vuelta also ends this year with a local circuit on the streets of Madrid. The organization has once again opted for a short stage, where the riders are given ample space to chat and enjoy the highlights of Madrid.
The final stage of the Vuelta begins at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, a horse racing track just outside Madrid. There’s plenty of room for celebrity photos and other celebrations on the way to the local circuit. After all, the winner of the red jersey is already known. With 58 kilometers remaining, the riders start the circuit in Madrid.
The route takes them via Paseo del Prado, Paseo de Recoletos, Calle de Alcalá, and Gran Via, and ends at Plaza de Cibeles. This 5.8 km circuit is on the program ten times. In the final round, the runners will decide who can win this final stage.
