Longfonds organizes afternoon information for people with lung diseases

Haren – On 17 October 2023, Lungfonds is organizing an information afternoon for people with lung diseases, their loved ones and healthcare providers and hopes to welcome you.

We would like to invite you to an afternoon session full of information on the topic “Healthy food is an important foundation for everyone”. If you have lung disease, some nutrients are extra important, such as proteins. Proteins are the building and repair materials for your body. Healthy nutrition is important for recovery from training, but it is also important in the event of a pulmonary attack. Sports and exercise are essential for strong lungs and improved quality of life. During the afternoon, Jaco Mulder, R.D., Nutritionist/Personal Training and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Dietitian Leanda Brinkman, UMCG/Beatrixoord, would like to take you into the world of healthy nutrition and the importance of lung training.

Longpunt will be held on October 17 at “Beatrixoord” location 4th floor, room 4.38, Dilgtweg 5 in Haren from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Due to catering, it would be great if you could let us know if you will be there. This can be sent to: [email protected]
Welcome, coffee and tea are ready!

Anyone with a lung disease will of course get the necessary information and guidance from their GP or hospital. But dealing with a chronic illness (often) requires more. What about taking medication? How do you organize your life in the best possible way? What tools and agencies are there? What can the environment do for you?

expertise
Lung point provides an answer to all these questions. An initiative of Lungfonds in collaboration with healthcare providers in the region. There are afternoons several times a year, where patients, their partners and healthcare providers receive current information and practical advice. Lectures will be delivered by several pulmonologists, physiotherapists, psychologists and social workers, among others. But Long Point is perhaps most valuable as a place to exchange experiences, gain advice and share interests.
