Activision Blizzard has announced that it could bring games to Xbox Game Pass starting in 2024. Not as fast as you might think, because Microsoft expects the Activision Blizzard acquisition to be completed sometime next week.
Microsoft has announced in the past that it wants to “bring as many Activision Blizzard titles as possible to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.” This includes existing and new titles. According to Activision Blizzard, there is already demand for their wallet on Game Pass, so the publisher has planned the term a little more.
At this time, Activision Blizzard is focused on completing the $69 billion acquisition. Once this deal is completed, the publisher will work closely with Xbox to bring all games to Game Pass as quickly as possible. However, don’t expect titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo IV to be available on the platform this year. After all, the first games are expected to come to Game Pass within the next year.
It is also undoubtedly a strategic move, because Activision Blizzard undoubtedly wants to capitalize on the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. If this game were to come to Game Pass on launch day, the publisher would of course have much lower sales.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled to be released on November 10.
