Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson changed his career from politician to presenter on GB News TV channel

When Andrew Neil, the BBC veteran and founder of GB News, announced the new TV channel, he explained that it would adopt an American style with “character presenters with soul”.

Enter Boris Johnson. The former British Prime Minister has already written columns for the British newspaper Daily Mail. He is now venturing into a career on screen. Johnson has signed a contract to work as a presenter, program maker and commentator starting in January.

His announcement shows that the politician is excited about his new job. “GB News is a rebel broadcaster with a loyal and growing following. I look forward to starting soon and giving my honest views on world affairs,” Johnson said. “I will talk about the tremendous opportunities that lie ahead, but also about the challenges and why our best days are yet to come.”

According to the channel, Johnson “will play a major role” in covering the upcoming British and American elections. It will also focus on a series about the UK’s global power.

This is not the first time that Johnson has taken the journalistic path. His career began at the British newspaper The Times, where he was fired for fabricating a quote. He then went to work for the Daily Telegraph, where he worked as European correspondent in our capital, and later as editor-in-chief of the Spectator.
