Official | Hayes’ new national coach USA:…

Emma Hayes is officially the USA’s new national coach. Chelsea’s current coach has been announced by the US Soccer Association Confident. Hayes will join Team USA after the season in England.

Hayes announced earlier this month that he would be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season. The 47-year-old coach has been on the sidelines of England’s top club since 2012. Since then, he has won the FA Cup six times, the League Cup twice, the Spring Series once and the Community Shield once. Hayes was named coach of the season six times. In 2021, he was inducted into the WSL Hall of Fame.

Chelsea had already announced that Hayes was going to seek a new opportunity outside of the WSL and club football, and rumors of a national coaching position in the US soon followed. So now it’s official. “It’s a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to coach one of the most incredible teams in football history,” Hayes said.

“I’ve dreamed of coaching for the United States for a long time, so getting this opportunity is a dream come true. I know we have to work to achieve our goals of continuing to win at the highest level.” Commitment, dedication and cooperation from the players, staff and everyone in the US Soccer Federation,” said the new head coach.

Hayes will join the US after England’s season. He will officially join the team two months before the start of the 2024 Games. Until then, Twila Kilgore will serve as interim national coach. He later became Hayes’ assistant.
