Barcelona take full advantage of Las Palmas after a late penalty

It took a lot of effort, but Barcelona remained third in La Liga after a narrow win over mid-table Las Palmas. The home team eventually squandered all three points after a stupid penalty infringement by Daley Sinkgraven.

Las Palmas is ranked tenth in the Spanish League, but had the second-best defensive record in the competition before Barcelona's visit.

It was not an easy evening for the visitors, who also saw Joao Cancelo go off due to injury early in the game.

To make matters worse, Las Palmas scored immediately afterwards, after a combination of two former Barcelona players: Sandro Ramirez provided the assist, and Munir El Haddadi scored.

We had to wait until the second half to get Barcelona's answer. In a second, better attack for the visitors, Rafinha hit the post first, but Ferran Torres found his way into the net moments later.

In the remainder of the match, Barcelona seriously searched for a loophole in the Las Palmas player's organizational level. That was not found, but the visitors got a boost from the home team.

Even literally, because in extra time, Dali Singraven pushed Ilkay Gundogan into the penalty area. Sinkgraven was knocked out and it was Gündogan himself who unwrapped the gift from a height of eleven metres.

Thanks to the victory, Barcelona jumped over Atletico and Bilbao to third place, 7 points behind the duo, Real Madrid and Girona.
