Eric Van Looy tells the story of his childhood crush Elsie Hellewaut in 'I Ask Her': 'She was the woman of my dreams at that time' | television

televisionIn the VRT show “I Ask”, Eric Van Looi shares a wonderful story about his childhood sweetheart, Elsie Hellewaut. The singer was known at the time for her band Elissa Wott and the song “Four Times More” was played thousands of times in the Van Lowe household. “At that moment she was the woman of my dreams,” Eric admits now.

“I was 26 at the time and I was already in love with her, but I never did anything about it. “I was obsessive and very shy,” Eric admits. “In 1987 I was single and she was the woman of my dreams at the time. “When I heard that she was in a relationship with one of her band members, I felt very jealous,” he said, then laughed. “I met Elsge a few years later and interviewed her on a programme. I had already spoken to many movie stars, including Madonna. But I had never felt as shy as I was with her.

To Erik's surprise, Elsje Helewaut appears in the studio and sings Erik Van Looy's favorite song. “I thought this was incredible,” Eric says. Then he said to Elsie: “I like you very much.” Elsje had also known about Erik's crush for some time. “I heard that on the radio once,” she finally laughed.
