Last month, Club Brugge allowed Romeu Firmante to leave for Westerlo. And he has good taste for it.
Romeo Vermant has been loaned from Club Brugge to Westerlo until the end of the season, where he can work again with Rick De Mel. There were very few opportunities to play minutes at the moment.
Club Brugge has worked with Westerlo on more than one occasion in the past to recruit talented players. The best example of this is of course Maxime De Cuyper, who, after a spell at Westerlo, became a regular at Club Brugge.
Vermant realizes he's ended up in a great position, but he wants to chart his own path in his career. However, a scenario like De Kuiper's is incredibly appealing to him, he told Gazete Van Antwerp.

“If I can follow this path, this is the ideal scenario for me. Gaining two years of experience at the highest level and then progressing through the club is what I signed up for,” Vermant says.
He certainly wants to continue playing for Westerlo next season. He added: “What the future holds depends on the situation of Klopp and Westerlo, but I will be happy to play football here for another year.” I feel good in Kempen.
