Saudi Arabia qualifying result: Supreme Verstappen easily takes first place

Qualifying at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit has already become a reality. Max Verstappen took first place on the narrow and fast street circuit on the Saudi coast. The second fastest time was recorded by Charles Leclerc, and Sergio Perez may start tomorrow's race from third place.

Q1

The qualifiers got off to a busy start. Almost all the drivers immediately wanted to set their fast lap times on the Saudi asphalt. Everyone came to the track led by Logan Sargeant. Only Guanyu Zhou couldn't drive a single meter, and his car wasn't ready in time after his big crash in the third free practice. Oscar Piastri crawled through the eye of the needle, and almost followed Zhou after touching the wall. Therefore, the Chinese were excluded, as were Valtteri Bottas, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly and Logan Sargeant.

Q2

The second part of qualifying also started off busy. Lewis Hamilton started the session, but was unable to continue using the pedals well. It quickly reached Q3. Nico Hulkenberg was dropped due to his Haas breaking down in the first sector. After a short red light, the drivers returned to the track. Oliver Berman made a simple mistake, but then made an impression again. The 11th fastest time was something to write home about for the Ferrari substitute. In addition, Alexander Albon, Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Ricciardo and consequently Hulkenberg also withdrew.

Q3

Charles Leclerc was the first to enter the track in the third part of the qualifiers in Jeddah. Monaco felt comfortable and wanted to put pressure on Verstappen. This only partly worked, because Verstappen was simply too fast for his rivals. Fernando Alonso made an attempt, but the experienced Spaniard just missed the top three. Leclerc finished second, but that simply wasn't possible.
