Breda – Starting March 28, Poppodium Phoenix will launch band workshops targeting young people aged 15-27. These workshops are open to participants of all levels, regardless of the genre or instrument they play. Under the guidance of a professional music coach, new bands will be formed and prepared for a special final performance. Existing teams can also sign up for a one-time training session.

Poppodium Phoenix has been organizing workshops for musicians for some time, from jam workshops to singing workshops, as well as master classes aimed at overcoming stage fright. Starting March 28, the theater will offer ensemble workshops for young people aged 15 to 27 years. This program is designed for young people who want to play in a band, but have not yet found a band. In collaboration with Breda-based musician and music coach, Tin van London, the barriers to starting a band are removed during informative and entertaining workshops. During these sessions, all essential aspects are covered for you to be able to play with others.

Additionally, Poppodium Phoenix provides the opportunity for existing bands to sign up for a one-off rehearsal session. During this session, teams can ask specific questions about, for example, performance, composition and technique. Both bands welcome their own acts and cover bands.

The organization bills itself as a creative breeding ground for musicians in Breda. Director Jesse van der Meulen emphasizes this importance: “In 2024, young people are looking more than ever at how to use their talents. After a long period of isolation with the growth of the Internet, they have noticed their potential.” So this is the time to get out of that attic. With your guitar and meeting people you can grow with.”
