Whatever category you belong to, from now on, you no longer have to worry about the effect of coffee on your health. A large-scale study conducted by the European Society of Cardiology, which included at least 468,629 people tested, showed that the hot drink has a positive effect on your body.
Long list of benefits
For the study, participants were divided into three groups: those who drank less than half a cup a day, those who drank between half a cup and three cups (58.4 percent) and those who drank more cups. The second group emerged as those with the most health benefits. For example, those who drink half to three cups of coffee per day have a 17% lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Then the risk of stroke is reduced by 21%, while the drink also has anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic properties.
As if that weren’t enough, coffee also curbs hunger pangs, which can lead to weight loss. Finally, coffee drinkers also have a lower risk of developing dementia – we owe this benefit to caffeine, but more research is needed to know the exact effect. Tea also contains caffeine and is therefore equally effective, ideal if you are not a fan of the typical coffee taste.
Despite all the benefits of coffee, it is of course important to take care of the rest of your diet and get enough nutrients.
