After their first successful experience as catering operators in Little Switzerland (Zwalm) You can now find Jochie Jochie in Velzeke.
The building where I set the record even presses on last year Donk! Records (domain Poplar, Letterkouter 6) can be found treated by Jonas and Els and converted into a cozy restaurant. Inside there is space for about 26 places.
The name (jochie jochie) comes from the pet name the couple (Jonas and Else) give each other.
You can find Jonas from Zottegem behind the stove. Self-taught in the kitchen (background and still active in music) he serves up a new menu of portioned dishes each week. Seasonality and locality are still important in the new location.
A selection of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes are available. You have to prepare (depending on your appetite 2 to 3 dishes per person). Cake is served by Loretta and the Nightingale From Monkswalm.
Els takes care of the room. She has a background in graphic design, so Interior Design contains many works for her changing personality (Our Miranda). The visuals for the weekly menu were also designed by her.
The focus at Jochie Jochie is on delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. As a hostess, Els welcomes you immediately in her cheerful and nonchalant way. Jonas repeatedly surprises with the best dishes.
But it doesn’t stop there, at the end of May they will also start performing in the restaurant. You can find the agenda on their site https://www.jochie-jochie.com/
In our opinion, a great addition to Zottegem and a unique concept in the area!
And they have more plans for the future…
Open for lunch on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and dinner on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations can be made via https://www.jochie-jochie.com/
