KRC Genk has to look for a new coach after the departure of Wouter Franken. It looks like he’s fishing the same pond again as he did with Franken himself a few years ago.
Wouter Franken left for KRC Genk after four years at KV Mechelen, and now he looks to be on his way to KAA Gent this summer. So they are looking for a successor to Wouter Franken at Genk, and may even look at Mechelen again.
Besnik Hasi has reached the end of his contract with Malinois, and it has already been decided that he can visit elsewhere next summer. He was also initially linked to Ghent, but that story ultimately didn’t make it. Thus it becomes possible to genk.
According to our information, Hassi is the person who tops the list of candidate coaches at the Cegica Arena. Hassi’s arrival at Genk will complete the circle, as he played there as a player for five seasons.

The former midfielder was one of the key players in the champion team in 1999. He earned a top-tier move to Anderlecht in Limburg, and the rest is history for the current coach of KV Mechelen.
