Update: Just Eat is offering free delivery to Amazon Prime members

(APMF IN-DOW JONES) Just Eat Takeaway will deliver meals for free to Amazon Prime members in Germany, Austria and Spain. The meal delivery company made the announcement Wednesday morning.

Amazon Prime members will be among the first to access the free delivery option of Plus, a new loyalty program that Just Eat will launch in the coming months. Under this program, customers can benefit from exclusive offers and discounts at restaurants and its retailers.

Free delivery for Prime members applies to orders of €15 or more.

CEO Gets Gruen expects the deal to boost customer acquisition in Germany and Austria, while it could also strengthen its market position in Spain. “The ultimate goal remains to serve 80 percent of the population in a country,” the CEO said on X. “Even in the Netherlands or the UK, we only reach 35 to 40 percent. There are many fish swimming in the sea.”

Just Eat Takeaway’s share was up 0.9 percent on Wednesday morning at €12.11.

Update: To add Jitse Groen’s response and price.
